Porsche 996 986 M96 Engine Upgraded Oil Pressure Piston Cold Start Kit

What the Upgrade Does

The updated piston features a precision bevelled edge, and the replacement spring is both longer and firmer than the original. Together they improve oil pressure regulation at low RPM and during cold starts — keeping oil circulating before bypass and reducing chain rattle on startup.

Measured Oil Pressure Improvement

• Before: 1.0 – 1.2 bar
• After: 1.5 – 1.8 bar

Higher pressure at startup with cold oil. The stronger spring also improves lubrication during high-G cornering, where the pump begins to bypass at exactly the right moment.
